Ashley Wilks Day is a new voice and talent in country music.

Ashley is only sixteen years old and has been on stage since the age of two. Her first stage role was at age four as a star in "Planet Starship". She loved being on stage and later started taking acting lessons. Her first audition was for "Annie" and she was picked as Annie's understudy and got the role of the orphan "Tessie" and was hooked from that moment on in acting.  She started taking voice and drama lessons and has been fortunate to have had some really great teachers.

Over the years, each summer Ashley's family and drama teacher have traveled to New York where Ashley has taken extensive dance lessons and learned about behind the scenes of the theatre.

Ashley has played in numerous productions herself such as Peggy Sawyer in "42nd Street, Teen Evangeline in "Evangeline the Musical", and Andrea in "Once On This Island."

Ashley got into the recording business when she was dancing for a Mardi Gras ball at Louisiana State University.  In the audience was Alan Cartee, a producer from Nashville, and president of Cartee-Day Entertainment. He asked her if she sang and when she said yes he asked her to send him an audio tape which she did.  Two weeks later he sent her airline tickets to Nashville.

Ashley loves the studio and producing. Writing songs is a way she expresses herself and she feels she has a lot to say to the world and she finds music as the way to express herself the best. She loves to jam with a talented musician where they can start with words and a feeling, and then all of a sudden...both are on the same page with the notes flowing.

While the people in Nashville wanted Ashley to move there she felt that it was important to graduate from high school before launching any musical career. She will be moving to Nashville eventually and working in a studio where she can continue her musical career in production. She wants to keep performing and writing songs. She knows that God will lead her in the right direction and she has found what she really loves.

Her CD contains songs that she wrote or wrote with Bo Jamison. She is the lyrics person and Bo is the music man.

The first song Livin' is about a person that has all kinds of ideas about life and people have stolen the ideas. Now its their turn.

Ashley's favorite is Reign of Pain, a song which talks about our culture today and how we need to change things. Forever Plus a Day tells of eternal love - what we all strive for.  You Ain't Right is about how crazy romance is. God Must Have Needed A New Star was written by Ashley after the tragic deaths of her cousin Jackson Dease and her teacher and friend Danny Tiberghein.
